NLP
NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is a powerful way to change the way you think, feel, and act — so you can live in alignment with your true self.
It is about understanding the connection between your mind (Neuro), your language (Linguistic), and your patterns of behaviour (Programming). These three elements shape how you experience the world and how you interact with it.
Here is how it works:
-
Neuro (Mind):
The way your brain processes thoughts, emotions, and experiences. NLP helps you to become aware of your mind. -
Linguistic (Language):
The words you use — both with yourself and others — create your reality. Your internal dialogue has an impact on how you feel and act. NLP teaches you how to shift your language to be more positive and empowering. -
Programming (Behavior):
Our brains are “programmed” by past experiences, habits, and beliefs. Just like reprogramming a computer, NLP helps you change the way you think and behave.
NLP Perception Model: A Simple Explanation
The NLP Perception Model teaches us how we perceive the world around us and how that shapes the way we think, feel, and behave. It is based on the idea that we don not experience the world directly, but rather through our own filtering system — our thoughts, beliefs, experiences, and emotions.
Here is a simple way to understand it:
1. External reality (what happens outside of you)
This is everything that happens in the world — what people say, what you see, hear, and experience. But here is the thing: we can not take in everything at once. There is too much information coming at us every second.
2. Filtering (your personal filters)
Our minds have a way of filtering this information based on our beliefs, values, past experiences, and emotions. You might notice some things that others don't, or you might miss things because of your personal filters.
For example: If you believe you are not good enough, you might filter out compliments and only focus on mistakes.
If you value honesty, you might notice when people are not truthful with you.
3. Internal representation (your mental picture)
Once your mind filters all this information, it creates an internal representation or mental picture of what is happening. This could be a memory, a thought, a feeling, or an image in your mind. These internal pictures are what guide your responses and actions.
4. Behavior (what you do in response)
Based on the mental pictures you create, you behave in a certain way. If your internal picture tells you something is unsafe, you might feel anxious or defensive. If it tells you something is exciting, you might feel joy and take action toward it.
In short: The NLP Perception Model shows how our mind filters what we see, hear, and experience, and then creates a mental picture that influences how we respond. By changing the filter, we can change how we perceive and respond to life — and start to live more fully and authentically.
You deserve You.
